How did the Lord lead you to worship at Robinwood as a church family?
My family and I had been members of Grace Lutheran for many years and, when the decision was made for Grace to plant a new church, all three of us felt led to move from Grace and support the Robinwood church plant. Sheila & Randy Olmstead
Where did you grow up?
Cameron, Missouri. It’s a small town of 5,000 people – 2,500 in the prisons — 60 miles n/e of Kansas City, Missouri and 30 miles s/e of St. Joseph, Missouri.
Tell us about a time your faith came alive.
A friend invited me to attend BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and, after a few months of daily Bible study, I began to develop a deeper, personal relationship with God. I knew something significant was happening when I felt the urgent need to tithe! More recently, I attended the “Perspectives” course on Global Missions and was energized by all the unique, exciting things God is doing to make sure the world knows about Him!
What are some of your passions for our church?
Youth ministries and Global Missions.
Tell us about your family.
My husband, Randy, and I have been married 28 years and we have one son, Matt, 19, who just finished his freshman year at Azusa Pacific University. We also have two dogs, Jake and Jill.
How did you end up in your current vocation?
When I took a placement test in my senior year of high school, the guidance counselor told me to avoid any profession dealing with math. I totally ignored the counselor’s advice, and that’s why I now work as a Financial/Information systems analyst at Boeing!
