How did the Lord lead you to worship at Robinwood as a church family?
We felt strongly led to be part of the music team and part of this church plant. Terry & Joel Nelson
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Claremont, California.
Tell us about a time your faith came alive.
When my boys were just 2 and 3 1/2, I joined BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). I had really never read much of my Bible, but with daily study and weekly meetings with a group discussion and lecture at BSF, within two months I knew that I had changed and that my relationship with God had become personal. I had desired that for years, but didn’t know how to get it, even though I attended church weekly.
What are some of your passions for our church?
That people would find healing at Robinwood. That all people who walk through Robinwood’s doors would know and understand God’s love for them.
Tell us about your family.
Joel and I have been married for 22 wonderful years, and we have two sons, Scott (18) – a freshman at Goldenwest College majoring in Criminal Justice (He wants to be in the FBI) and a french horn player, and Steven (16) – a junior in high school and a baritone player in the band. We also have a dog named Misty who is part Lab and “part cat”. (She climbs and walks on our backyard block walls).
How did you end up in your current vocation?
In the past six years I have mainly been a music teacher at Grace Preschool. Chris Hankins asked me six years ago to share the position, then it became mine after a year! It has been great fun! I have done a few other things as well and continue to seek God’s direction.
