Main Preacher/Teacher

Dave Housholder is our main Bible Teacher/Preacher on Sunday mornings.

He prefers text preaching (going verse by verse through a book of the Bible) to theme preaching (picking a topic and finding Bible verses). His first two books at Robinwood have been Galatians and Luke (ongoing).

Pastor “Hous” (pronounced “House”) has been married since 1982 to Wendy and they gave birth in 1988 to their only son Lars.

He was raised in a faith-filled home and his own faith came alive at a Billy Graham crusade in May of 1983.

His education includes a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and he

was a Fulbright Scholar in New Testament at the University of Bonn in Germany. He speaks fluent Dutch and German and loves reading biblical Greek and Hebrew along with dabbling in many other languages.

He loves teaching the Alpha Course.

Books Written by Dave Housholder

He has pastored the following churches since ordination in 1990:

He believes that the Bible is inerrant (without error). His spirituality is on the Pentecostal side. He believes in empowerment for everyone and is passionate about global missions and church planting.

His preaching delivery is informal and folksy with heavy content made fun and even zany once in a while. He believes in holiness of lifestyle but only by God’s grace and power. He believes in “victorious eschatology” (view of the end times). He believes that the Bible teaches abundant life (not scarcity) as the ideal. He believes that women should join men in leadership.

In his free time he likes to surf and travel. He and Wendy are part of a high commitment couples group.

He is not an employee of Robinwood. He is president of the elders board and contracts with the church (W-9) for pastoral services. This contract work is not full time, and he also contracts with:

  •  Hosanna! of Lakeville, Minnesota (Bible Teaching)
  • Alpha USA (leadership in the Alpha Course)
  • Other churches to help them raise Capital Funds
  • Seminaries for teaching

He also dabbles in the oil business and investments.

He is writing all the time and has about five books in his head. Always looking for a good writing agent.

Hous has two brothers: Mike (the perfect one) in Iowa, and Tim (the favorite) in St. Paul, Minnesota.
