Robinwood Church, like an individual person, has a personality given by the Lord.
We are not called to be like every other church or any other church…
We are very much a Bible church. We don’t just talk about the Bible;we use it. We aspire to teach what the Bible teaches on every topic.
We are a Spirit-filledchurch. Some would label that “charismatic” or “Pentecostal.” We encourage everyone to experience the filling of the Spirit and to operate in His gifts.
With this in mind, our worship experience is unbashedly exuberant and often loud. If you are looking for a formal, contemplative worshipping community, you might want to look elsewhere.
We are an empowerment church. We believe that the leadership gifts of Ephesians 4:11-13 are for everyone regardless of gender, race, economic or educational status. Our congregation is multicultural. This is not the church for you if you are looking for exclusively male leadership.
Flowing from this, we teach an empowerment message. We believe in and practice faith healing. We believe that God’s plan for you is for financial abundance so that you can practice generosity and generative living. We believe that God wants to heal your relationships and lead you into an empowered vocation in life.
We believe in planting churches. Not in becoming a huge church. Our DNA is multiplication-based, not addition-based. We are not striving to become a mega-church. We believe that a “movement” will reach more people that one congregation could ever reach.
We believe in the future of planet Earth and God’s creation. We believe that the world (which God so loves) is worth investing in. We believe on focusing on calling heaven into earth, not just in getting people to heaven. According to the Lord’s prayer, the Kingdom is something that COMES not just a place we “go to.”
We believe that the Lord’s message will transform the whole of creation and some day everything will be as it should be. There will be great hardship and tribulation on the path to this, but the church will prevail and be victorious.
If you believe in your heart of hearts that the church will fail and need to be evacuated, Robinwood church will challenge your thinking.
We believe in Grace. We do not believe that we can become holy by human striving. We can only become holy by giving control of our lives to Jesus Christ through his Holy Spirit(Romans 8). We accept everyone, since we are all broken, into fellowship. We invite the Lord to take over and make us holy. As Carrie Underwood sings: “Jesus, take the wheel…” Ephesians 2:8-9 are pivotal in this understanding.
We are not a church with a rigid theology of baptism. We encourage everyone who feels so led, or led to baptize his or her family, to do so. We do not teach that the amount of water used or the age of those baptized is what matters. Baptism is a celebration of individuals and families(… as for me and my house …) who say yes to Jesus.
We believe in table fellowship. In the book of Acts (see 2:42 and following) the earliest church ate and prayed together. We encourage everyone to find his or her way into spiritually-transforming table fellowship.
Most of all, we believe that the Lord believes in YOU.
Come and discover what that means with us..
